Goodbye AT&T

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

On Monday, when I get back from my camping trip, I’m going to switch my phone service to Comcast.  AT&T is just begging, “Please Kill Us”. I only have AT&T for our archaic land line (local and long distance). I’ve been really happy with my Speakeasy SDSL for the past six years.

Share.whichever.com Went Away

Sunday, June 10th, 2007

After something like seven years of minimal use, Jon took down the old share.whichever.com server. That means all the old PHP code from the Whichever Group (FreeTrade, FreeAssociation, etc) is no longer available. The mailing list for FreeTrade didn’t have a post to it for more than a year, so I’m not too worried. But I did get a comment asking where the site went.

Click no freetrade.tar.gz to get a copy of the code as it existed the last time someone was working on it. I don’t actually have a copy of the repository or the official releases. If I ever have a reason (ie paying client) I’ll port the code to the latest FreeEnergy framework.

Iran Holding American Hostages And We Do Nothing?

Friday, June 1st, 2007

Micheal Ledeen wrote yesterday about an Invisible Crisis: Iran is now holding five American hostages.  There is has been little coverage of this in the press, and no apparent reaction from our government.

Is there no action Iran can take that will convince our country to fight back?  Will we be watching a smoldering city destroyed by an Iranian nuclear bomb, trying to come up with some reason why it’s not their fault?

Last year, I said it was time to destroy Iran. It’s getting late. If anyone needs an alternative argument for this, check out The Case for Bombing Iran by Norman Podhoretz.
