Give Praise to the Sun

Ancient, citrine beacon up above
Shining down on people all your love
From almost nothing life grows
And every morning your face glows

Many should have called you happiness
Who saw your light and felt your warm carress
And there is only one star shining in the day
Who would deny me if I would say,

Give praise to the sun

King of heaven rules from lofty sky
And judges he who passes ‘neath his eye
All our power comes from our sire
Whose heart burns with unquenchable fire

And at night I know you’re there
It’s just aht I’m beyond your stare
But when that night comes at last to stay
From my lips I hope to pray,

Give praise to the sun
